Collaborative post
You’ve put in the work, you’ve built your confidence and grown your business but how to stay resilient and successful during challenging times?
It can be easy to forget all the achievements we’ve made, when we hit a roadblock.
This is why we need to celebrate our small wins. Keeping a list of your victories on your desk will help to remind you of how far you’ve come and how far you can go and will motivate you to keep going.
So what are some ways you can continue to grow your business?
Look after yourself (Self care)
You’ve heard that saying, ‘if you can’t look after yourself then how can you look after anyone else?’
The same is true of business.
It can be a stressful thing running a business and looking after staff and consumers. If you’re not good then your business will feel the effects.
It can be hard to leave work at work but allowing yourself that time to decompress will prevent burnout and mean you can keep your business running smoothly.
If you find yourself thinking about work and worrying about things that you need to do, write it all down. That way you won't have to worry it won’t get done as it’ll be on a list waiting for when you’re ready.
2. Prioritize customer service
If you’re a customer based business then no one or no thing is more important than your customers.
Without them, your business can not survive. If customers have a good experience then they’re more likely to keep coming back and to even recommend you to others.
What’s more is that some studies suggest that it takes several good experiences to make up for one bad one.
Avoid this by making your service top from the start. Virtual customer service is just as important.
Be sure to answer emails, voicemails and messages promptly. Keep on top of any staff training, tools like a Free Learning Management System (LMS) Directory Listing can be a great way to monitor and keep track of staff training.
3. Focus on marketing
- Word of mouth is a great way to market your business. Word gets out quick and it doesn’t cost you anything. By giving great customer service you can build a reputation that will speak for itself.
- Have a promotion plan, send out promotions with invoices or give out promotional leaflets with every receipt.
- Use social media. I’m today’s world there isn’t a brand without some sort of social media page. It’s a way to keep relevant and keep in touch with your customer base. You can also use this platform to advertise any promotions.
4. Get a website - an online presence is key
Creating a website is pretty easy these days and with online tutorials almost anyone can do it. But you want your website to stand out. It doesn’t have to be complicated. For a small business, a professional looking page that explains who you are with contact info can be enough. Make sure it represents who you are, a stand out logo says a lot.
Look after yourself, look after your business and make your next year is your best year. You haven’t come this far to let your business struggle now.
