South Africa 2021 Retreat, Day 2
We did tantra yoga every morning at the #WealthyMoneyRetreat last weekend.
Yoga literally saved my life when I was deeply depressed.
I am a certified #tantrayoga teacher and just love introducing people to this style of yoga which is all about the womb and being in the body and relaxing.
Over the years I have started to mix in short womb meditations into my sequences and that's exactly what we did at the retreat.
I got people to speak to their wombs, meditate and breathe light into the womb and do a short meditation connecting the womb to the heart, in between the yoga asanas.
The first morning was cold, so I woke up and made breakfast (which we ate afterwards) and the retreatants moved the furniture around and made a fire in the lounge area so we could do yoga.
At the end of the session, I had everyone lie in shavasana as I went around and did some energy healing and/or blessing on everyone and covered them with throws as they relaxed and napped for as long as their bodies needed.
The focus in the yoga session was for them to always feel into the body and there was a lot of shaking and some tears from people.
At first people tried to stop the shaking cos they thought there was something wrong, but they got excited when I explained that trauma lives in the body a d one way, we release stored trauma in the body is when the body shakes or when we cry.
And it's a good thing when this happens involuntarily in yoga .
I loved seeing the realize that yoga is about so much more than the poses (asanas) and contorting your body and doing difficult poses.
Yoga is a powerful healing modality that can help us get into the body and stay there, no matter how hard life gets. Yoga can also teach us about ourselves and how we live life.
In fact, one of the most important and powerful yoga poses is shavasana - the pose that requires to just lie there and do nothing .
At breakfast we would debrief about what came up for them and what they were noticing in their wombs and I would sometimes start doing some coaching.
PS: If the retreats are resonating with you and you want to do one. I am having my final retreat in South Africa from January 28th - 31st, 2022. It's at the same venue in Carolina and the cost is the same: R10,000. I have 3 spots left. Inbox me if you want to join.
